New windscreen fitted, and now the lane-keep warning flashes when it shouldn't, or nobody mentioned that the camera needed recalibrating afterwards.
Front-facing cameras and radar units on modern cars need recalibrating any time the windscreen, front bumper or suspension geometry changes, and a lot of fast-fit windscreen replacements skip this step entirely. We calibrate front cameras on VAG models in-house, alongside the alignment work it is usually needed after.
What The Job Involves
Calibration after glass or bodywork
A camera bolted back behind a new windscreen is not automatically pointing at the same spot it was before. We recalibrate to manufacturer targets and tolerance, not by eye.
Paired with alignment work where it matters
Radar and camera calibration is most often needed straight after a wheel alignment or suspension repair, since ride height and geometry changes affect what the sensors read. We do both in the same visit.
A system that actually works when you need it
Lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise and automatic emergency braking are only useful if they are calibrated correctly. We would rather tell you it needs doing than let a warning light get ignored.

Questions We Get Asked
Do I need calibration after a windscreen replacement?
If your car has a front-facing camera behind the windscreen, for lane-keep assist or automatic emergency braking, then yes. Skipping it means the system may not read the road correctly.
Which cars can you calibrate?
We calibrate front cameras in-house on VAG group models (Audi, VW, Skoda, SEAT). For other marques, ask and we will confirm what we can do.
