MOT Testing
The MOT reminder has landed and you would rather not spend a morning finding out at a test centre that something you didn't know about needs sorting before you can drive home legally.
We run Class 4 MOT testing on-site, and because we are also the people who work on German cars every day, if something fails we can usually tell you straight away whether it is a five-minute fix or a proper job, and quote it there and then instead of sending you elsewhere.
What The Job Involves
Booked around a service, if you want it
Most people book the MOT alongside a service or interim check, so the car only goes up on the ramp once. Tell us when you book and we will schedule both together.
A pre-check if the car is getting on
On older or higher-mileage cars we will flag anything close to the edge, tyres, discs, bushes, before it becomes a fail, so there are no surprises on test day.
Straight talk on advisories
An advisory is not automatically a job you need doing today. We will tell you honestly what needs attention now and what can wait, and for how long.
Why Have GCS Do It
- One workshop, one visit: MOT and any resulting work handled by the same technicians who know the car.
- Free courtesy car if the test throws up something that needs same-day work.
- No pressure to fix advisories that are not yet a problem.
Questions We Get Asked
Can I book an MOT on its own?
Yes, but most customers book it with a service, since the car is up on the ramp either way and it saves a second trip.
What happens if my car fails?
We will tell you exactly what failed and quote the fix properly. There is no obligation to have the work done here, though most people do since we've already found the fault.
Tell us what the car is doing and we will tell you straight.
No hard sell, no assembly swapped on a guess. Call the workshop directly or send the details online and we'll get back to you the same working day.
